The Danish-Turkish vocalist Hilal Kaya masterfully blends traditional Turkish melodies with jazz, rock, world music, and afrobeats, creating a unique sound that transcends both culture and time. With a voice that embodies both power and vulnerability, Hilal captivates audiences and takes them on a musical journey from Istanbul to Copenhagen.

Hilal Kaya has made a name for herself with her work in Anatolian pop and Turkish psychedelic rock alongside the Danish band Kalaha (Emil de Waal, Rumpistol, Niclas Knudsen, Spejderrobot,and Anders Stig Møller) since 2019.

In 2022, she released the album “Tutku” together with Kalaha and the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra. The “Tutku” album was nominated for various awards by international magazines and music platforms and received three nominations at the Danish Music Awards in the Jazz and Roots categories.

Hilal Kaya has been frequently played on bothDanish and international radio stations, and her release “Özgürüm Ben” with Kalaha became the first Turkish song to enter the main rotation in Denmark.

In September 2024, she released her debut single, Perişan, and she plans toenter the studio in January to complete her upcoming album, set for release in 2025.

Hilal Kaya combines her extraordinary voice with the diverse musical backgrounds of her bandmates, giving her music a profound and versatile character.

Off stage, Hilal exudes natural humility, while on stage,she captivates audiences with her commanding presence.
